Spirituality & Self-Reflection What is spirituality? Spirituality can be interoperated into many things. For me it’s my inner self and the moments that allow me to find inner peace, answers and moments where negative thoughts can be released and solutions are found. That calm within, the feeling of awe and almost space, where, for that moment my mind is empty of negative thoughts, that allow for metacognitive awareness and connectivity with my inner soul.  Metacognition - " Awareness and understanding of one’s own thought process" (oxforddictionary.2019). For others Spirituality could be a religious belief. Where we make time to connect with outer experiences, or time to worship such spiritual beliefs. Even in a religious context spirituality allows for reflection and awareness. "Preparing Children for roles that do not exist" (House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, 2016) Digital Technology is part of our everyday lives from waking in the morning with the phone alarm, communication, organising, online banking, travel cards, payments, calculating, pretty much most parts of our life revolves around digital technology.  It is agreed that 20-25yrs years ago the world was somewhat different to how it is today. Jobs are being cut due to the increase in digital technology, so to foresee the next 20 years would be almost impossible. According the House of commons science and technology committee, for children to prepare themselves they will require digital skills. Technically speaking we as an economy, are building new devices to make life easier, simpler and faster; but surely that would mean we are  putting ourselves out of work, because digital technology is doing our jobs for us? Anderson Et al (2014) quoted that...

Parental Involvement to enhance chances of a successful education (KITS.org, 2018) I have recently come upon an experience where I was told, 'if parents follow procedure all children will do well'. It triggered a natural parental defensive mechanism in me, where I automatically felt I had to defend all children in this regard....but maybe I was confused by the statement that was made; never the less, the question of parental involvement was sparked.  "So, what your saying is, if a parent does not follow guidelines set by the 'government ' their child will not learn anything??" Surely that is not true, does the DfE follow parental needs for their child's education, I mean after all surely what a parent wants for their child is just as important? " Do parents have an impact in final policies, procedures and how children learn?? Do they have a say ?? Does the school/government share a mutual outcome for child's education?  ...
